"I don't sing because I'm happy; I'm happy because I sing."

William James,
Father of American Psychology

As a stage performer and vocalist, Janet specialises in vintage music, regularly performing the great songs from the 1920s to 1960s. Her unique musicality and vocals allow her to always be in her element with such diverse musical genres as the American Songbook Standards, Broadway Show Tunes, Operatic Arias, Art Songs and even the Bossa Nova and Shanghai Jazz. Coupled with her flair for languages, Janet is also able to sing the songs of various cultures in their native tongue with ease, frequently offering audiences the best of all worlds.

As a theatre performer, Janet has appeared in landmark stage productions as Lulu in "I Have A Date With Spring" and Yin Xin in "Butterfly Lovers" by Dama Orchestra, as The Little Mermaid in PAN Productions' "Always In Wonderland? The Musical", "M! The Opera" by Saidah Rastam, "The Magic Flute Concert" by KLPac, and "The Merry Widow" by Lyric Opera Malaysia. In 2012, she conceptualised and successfully presented "The Shanghai Jazz Songbook Tour" series with jazz pianist and arranger Hin Ee Jeng, performing to full houses at various venues. In 2013, Janet collaborated with renowned jazz pianist and composer Tay Cher Siang, to create a new show titled "Shanghai Jazz Redefined" for an international audience at the 7th Kinabalu Jazz Festival.
